Intense Pulsed Light – FotoFacial Therapy


Photo Rejuvenation involves gentle treatments to invigorate aging and sun damaged skin. This aesthetic procedure is often called Laser Photorejuvenation, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or FotoFacial therapy. Laser technology is not really used, but instead varying pulses of light energy. This non-invasive, no down-time procedure improves redness, sunspots, fine wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and reduces pores on the face, neck, chest and hands.


What is Photo Rejuvenation



Photo Rejuvenation incorporates the use of a broadband light spectrum as where lasers utilize a single wavelength of light. Cells containing excess skin pigment can be gently removed and enlarged blood vessels are sealed. The stimulation of collagen production is induced afterwards to produce the desired results over time. Intense Pulsed Light therapy requires a series of treatments over several months that is dependent on the person’s skin condition and type.

Photo Rejuvenation Process



The Photo Rejuvenation process begins with applying the face or body area with a clear ultrasound gel.  Protective eye goggles are worn during treatment. The experience of Photo Rejuvenation feels like a painless rubber band snapping on the skin. The process takes about twenty minutes for an area to be treated.

Approximately five scheduled sessions of Photo Rejuvenation are necessary to begin achieving smoother and younger looking skin.

Photo Rejuvenation Recovery



Photo Rejuvenation requires no down-time after the procedure.  The client is free to carry on with their daily routine afterwards. For women, makeup can be applied.

Areas containing many pigmentation spots will slightly darken over the several days, but will gradually flake off. This is an expected occurrence for numerous age or skin spotting. Makeup concealer can be used to remedy the situation.

Severely sun damaged skin or recent sun exposure can possibly lead to “foot-printing” (stripes) that show the laser track pattern of improving skin within the overall surrounding skin. Further treatments will correct the this side effect occurrence.
